Angling Tour Packages In kullu Manali:     Tirthan Valley Trout Fishing Package

Himachal is known as one of the best destination when it comes to leisure activities like fishing and angling. Get mesmerized by the natural surroundings of snowclad peaks and watch the sun go down spreading variant hues in the sky. And if one takes a pleasure in exploring the surroundings, then there are plenty of trails near the lake side just waiting to be discoveredTrout Fish

Fishermen abound with tales of the one that got away…and the odd tale of the one that didn’t….and listeners often doubt the veracity of both. Trout fishing is a specialized art but one that any bright child with cunning and skill can perfect. It takes stealth to leap over rocks and approach a pool quietly and cautiously …it takes dexterity to cast your spinner or fly out near the rocks under which the trout hide, luck not to get it snagged and lost and fate will decide whether your lure is taken or not. Some resident fishermen claim to know some certain large sized trout ‘by name’ and will visit the ponds where these fish live every few days to try and hook them again with innovative and creative adjustments to their lures. It’s all a part of the trout game and the Tirthan valley is one great place to play the game…the trout are plentiful, the river is beautiful, the valley is peaceful and the weather … wonderful

Angling , that is fishing with rod and line, is a legal, entertaining and relaxing sport. It is a philosophical activity requiring intelligence and skill and can at times test your agility and endurance. It will often take you among some of the best remaining environs on the planet, places of pristine beauty that can be refreshing to the body and mind.

Angling could become a very enjoyable sport that is if you’ve got planty of time in hand and loads of patience. This eco friendly sport is not for those who run out of patience every time they lose a fish or get tired for waiting for their catch! Hardly any anglers round the world have any idea that India makes a wonderful paradise for anglers.

And why not! With the so many rivers, streams there are numerous oppurtunites available for anglers to opt for sport fishing and angling in India. Beside the coastal areas, the foothill region of the Himalayas in northern states of India and the southern region of Nepal offer numerous oppurtunites to catch fish especially trout and Mahseer. Whether you’re the type who likes to string a worm onto a makeshift line and catch your own dinner or a thoroughbred professional angler with the latest in fishing tackle- India’s waters, both fresh and salt, can be a pleasant surprise.

Another kind of fishing related activity is Angling that has important methods of conservation. A good, healthy stock of fish is not the only product of the conservation efforts of anglers, waterside plants, insects, birds, mammals and reptiles also get benefit of Eco friendly sport. More of all angling or sport fishing is quiet an easy sport for even a beginner because most of major Indian cities lie along rivers, that’s why these cities become a favourite fishing spot for most of the anglers.

The Tirthan stream is a tributary of Beas with its source in the Tirthan Glacier. The Tirthan glacier is within the limits of the Great Himalayan National Park , a vast reserve of Himalayan flora and fauna. The Park and the glacier are also the source of the Sainj stream that joins the Tirthan briefly at Larji before tumbling into the Beas.

There are two kinds of trout in the waters of the Tirthan.

1. The Brown Trout is a native of European waters and were introduced to Himalayan streams first in Kashmir in the 1860’s and later from there to the Beas in the 1920’s.The legend that they followed everywhere the British army and empire went, its officers insisting on fishing it for sport can’t be far off the mark as they are found almost everywhere, from North to South America to Japan to Korea to New Zealand to the Himalayas, where we are.

Their presence in these rivers over the last hundred years or so has enabled them to evolve according to the environment and hence the term `Himalayan Trout’. This and the nature of the river compares with some of the most exciting trout angling to be had anywhere.

2.  The Rainbow that do not breed in the river and are escapees from the local fisheries. Being used to fishery feeding they are easily caught and rarely grow beyond a pound in the river, though it has been within my experience to occasionally land a larger Rainbow

Most of the states in India have also organised Fishing hatcheries, the breeding centres of bothy local and exotic fishes. Fish sanctuaries and hatcheries in Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Uttaranachal have major flow, and maintain a vast stock of fish, which are specially bred for re-stocking rivers.
